Who We Are
Mission: To bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope.
Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County began with important vision where everyone has a decent place to live. Rooted in their mission, Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County organization was established to address the growing need for safe, affordable housing in our local community. From their first build to today, they have remained committed to partnering with hard-working families, volunteers, and donors to create a change through shelter.
Over the years, their work has expanded beyond home construction. They offer financial education, homeownership counseling, and critical home repairs which empowers families not just with homes, but with the tools to build strong, stable futures. Since 1995, Habitat Monroe has built 108+ homes and continues to make homeownership a reality for local families.
They serve individuals and families earning below 80% of the area median income, many of whom are first-time homeowners or facing housing insecurity. They are not not only building houses but they are building hope for brighter futures for everyone.
