Who We Are

Mission: To alleviate hunger and empower lives.

Oakland HOPE began as an idea in the vision of One Heart Network (10 churches who meet regularly for prayer and encouragement). Oakland HOPE was born in 2013 out of a God-given desire to come alongside our community with more than just words and put our faith-into-action!

Oakland HOPE is Oakland County’s largest Food Pantry, providing FREE groceries for thousands of hungry families, seniors, and veterans each month.  Food insecurity is real and growing at an alarming rate.  Over 1.4M pounds of food moved out of Oakland HOPE into the tummies of Oakland County families, seniors, and veterans.

Our Food Pantry is unique and offers more than typical shelf stable canned goods.  Oakland HOPE also offers protein rich foods like milk, eggs, cheese, hummus, yogurt, fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables, several kinds of meats like beef, pork, sausages, chicken, breakfast meats, women’s hygiene items, adult depends, baby diapers and products, household products and a pet pantry too!

Oakland HOPE’s Food Pantry is dependent on the sales from our Thrift Store, and is the funding mechanism for our entire ministry

What We Do

Oakland HOPE’s Client Choice Food Pantry is able to provide FREE groceries to thousands of families each month. Families, seniors and veterans who have lost their paycheck and income now receive free groceries because of your support!   We have been able to share the love and hope of Jesus because of volunteers, donors, and supporters and Thrift Store shoppers like YOU!

Oakland HOPE’s Food Pantry is dependent on the sales from our Thrift Store, and is the funding mechanism for our entire ministry

The majority of volunteers have little, if any, direct contact with the public
