Founded in 2000, The Women’s Center of Southeastern Michigan is dedicated to the economic and emotional self-determination of women, girls, and families.
We work with women and individuals in times of transition to achieve economic and emotional well-being.
We offer mental health counseling, mom and infant groups, divorce supports, career and financial coaching to help women and families regardless of gender, race, or income. A significant portion of the Women's Center's services are free or very low cost to make them as accessible as possible.
Our services help women rebuild their lives — often without a safety net of family, friends, or faith community.
We consider ourselves a community of practice: A dozen master's and doctoral interns from University of Michigan and surrounding universities receive intensive supervision from qualified clinicians towards social work and professional counseling licensure.
Our vision is that women will identify and magnify their strengths to achieve full economic and emotional health. When women have the tools to assert their economic and emotional strengths, families and communities also thrive.
