When You've Found an Opportunity
You have two options! You can:
1. Click the "Respond" button located directly on the volunteer opportunity's description page. You'll have to have an account and be signed in to do this. This will send an automatic email to the organization hosting the opportunity. For some one-time opportunities (like signing up for an outdoor service day with Washtenaw County Parks & Rec), this is all you need to do before showing up at the location. However, for most organizations, you'll need to wait for the organization to follow-up with next steps for you. If the organization has not responded within two weeks, contact the organization directly by phone or email! See option 2 for more details on this.
2. Contact the organization behind the opportunity directly! To find the organization's contact information, start on the volunteer opportunity's description page. Then, scroll down and look on the bottom right for the box saying the community partner's name and logo. Click on that! You'll be brought to the community partner's description page, where you can scroll down and find their email and phone number.

Other Types of Service
Sometimes volunteers are looking for special kinds of service: Group, short-notice, short-term, Detroit based, or evenings and weekends. Use the links below to find volunteer opportunities that fit these special categories!
Detroit Based Community Partners
The above link takes you to a list of community partners based out of Metro Detroit. To find the opportunities associated with these partners, click on the partner’s link, and it will bring you to their profile. Scroll down to see their available service opportunities. If there are none currently posted, click the “Become a Fan” button at the top to be notified by email when that partner enters in an opportunity.
Group Volunteering
This list provides volunteer projects that can accept or are looking for groups. Organizations may have restrictions on group size, so please contact organization(s) in advance to learn more. Check out our Tips For Volunteering in a Group page in advance of your service.
Short-Term Volunteering
Our Calendar is a great way to plug into one-time opportunities that do not require an extensive time commitment. You can also peruse this list of short-term volunteering opportunities.
Short-Notice Volunteering
Want to volunteer within a two week time period? These opportunities welcome volunteers on a short notice. However, this does not mean you can always show up unannounced the day of an event. Please still register for the event so they know you're coming, and can let you know if there's space for you.
Weekend & Evening Volunteering
This list of opportunities is perfect if you work or take classes during the weekdays, and need to volunteer outside of normal hours.
